The Bible is a collection of religious texts of sacred value for Christianity, in which the religious interpretation of the reason for man's existence on Earth from a Jewish perspective is narrated by humans.
It is considered by Christians to be divinely inspired, as it is a doctrinal document.
According to the tradition accepted by most Christians, the Bible was written by 40 authors, between 1500 and 450 BC (Old Testament books) and between 45 and 90 AD (New Testament books), totaling a period of almost 1600 years.
Most historians consider the date of the first writings believed to be sacred to be much more recent: for example, while Christian tradition places Moses as the author of the first five books of the Bible (Pentateuch), many scholars accept that they were compiled for the first time only after the Babylonian exile, based on other texts dated between the tenth and fourth centuries before Christ.
Many scholars also claim that it was written by dozens of people from different regions and nations.
